Tirumala Venkateswara Temple

One of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world, this magnificent Dravidian-style temple atop the seven peaks of Tirumala Hills is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara (Balaji). Millions of devotees visit each year for darshan, and the annual Brahmotsavam festival draws over 500,000 pilgrims. The temple sits approximately 25 km from Tirupati city, accessible by road or the scenic Srivari Mettu footpath.

Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple (Tiruchanur)

Located about 5 km from Tirupati in the town of Tiruchanur, this ancient temple is dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi, the divine consort of Lord Venkateswara. Pilgrims traditionally visit here before proceeding to Tirumala, and the temple's striking five-storey white gopuram and festivals like Navaratri and Theppotsavam make it a must-see stop.

Kapila Theertham

Situated at the foothills of the Tirumala Hills in Tirupati, Kapila Theertham is a sacred Shaivite site where a natural waterfall cascades directly into a temple tank beside the ancient Kapileswara Swamy Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A grand Nandi statue greets visitors at the entrance, and major festivals like Maha Shivratri and Karthika Deepam are celebrated here with great fervour.

Chandragiri Fort & Raja Mahal

About 11–12 km from Tirupati, this impressive 11th-century fort served as the fourth and final capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Spread across 25 acres, it features the well-preserved Raja Mahal—now an archaeological museum housing sculptures, coins, and historical documents—plus the Rani Mahal and stunning panoramic views from the Upper Fort ramparts. An evening sound-and-light show with 3D holography effects brings the fort's royal history to life.

Sri Venkateswara National Park & Talakona Waterfall

Stretching across 353 sq km of the Seshachalam Hills on Tirupati's outskirts, this biosphere reserve is home to Indian leopards, sloth bears, elephants, and over 178 bird species, including the rare yellow-throated bulbul. The park's crown jewel is Talakona Waterfall—at 270 ft, the highest waterfall in Andhra Pradesh—along with marked trekking trails and diverse flora including rare red sanders.

Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple (Srikalahasti)

Located about 40 km from Tirupati, this ancient and revered Shiva temple is one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalas, representing the element of Wind (Vayu Linga). Known as 'Dakshina Kasi,' it is a major destination for Rahu-Ketu puja and is famed for its towering gopuram, sacred river Swarnamukhi, and its grand Dravidian architecture dating back centuries.
